There was a point in my life that I thouroughly enjoyed modding my games, but for X3 and some others it became a job instead of a hobby/game. It's hard to wrap my brain around sifting through all that information to get something that I want. Go into any of them, like the MARs turret control one and you can see the inherent complexity.

In my game start I have used the custom starts script to change my loadout. For The Pirate Guild and Yaki armada 2 I set them to high/ 10 and Foe to the player. I have yet to check out the other missions but the other mods for Terran Revitalization are all worth the install. This mod adds a lore friendly mission to the game with an interesting story.

For Terran Revitalization I highly suggest that you install pretty much all of the addons including but not limited to Stealing Logi. For the Main Menu Scene Pack I usually choose No.5 as it has the least load time on the game especially if you have a lower end system. The side effect of this is that if you destroy one of their ships in another race’s sector, you will lose reputation with that race.
